Single Malt: Provenance, Directors' Cut, Premier Barrel
Single Grain: Clan Denny Grain
In the last few months we have had the pleasure of tasting some of Douglas Laing's expressions. Cara Laing was friendly enough to send us some samples of some of their latest expressions to taste. We had ourselves a "little" tasting with these and just loved them!
The four samples sent were a Provenance - Bunnahabhain Young and (very) Feisty (his / hers), a wonderful 17 year old Old Particular - from the Speyside distillery (his / hers), another Old Particular from Glen Elgin (his / hers), and last but absolutely not least, a Director's Cut - Caol Ila that had been maturing in an ex-Sherry butt for 33 years (his / hers).
More of our tasting notes can be found here (his) and here (hers).
We will be on the lookout to acquire some bigger bottles from this lovely company, since they are really one of the bottlers to watch. As a final note, they also have 20 cl Hip Flasks of the Provenance Single Cask Series, which is exactly something that would fit great in ourdesks at work collection, since we just love wee bottles..!
Cheers,
Ansgar & Thomas
